Pampelonne and the Beach Clubs

Updated: Sep 5, 2019

The beach of Pampelonne is one of the most famous beaches in the world. The 4 km long beach framed by the rocky capes - Cap Camarat in the south, in Cap Pinet in the north, is myth. The beach was made famous by the film "And eternally lures the woman" by director Roger Vadim from 1955. Brigitte Bardot plays in it an orphan girl, who seduces and seduces men. The former supply booth for the film crew was today's Club 55.

Since then, the Pampelonne has been associated with stars and stars from film, music and fashion, from Errol Flynn, Gilbert Bécaud, Jane Fonda, Louis de Funès, Johnny Hallyday, Gunter Sachs, Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo up to Bono, Leonardo di Caprio, Rihanna, Elton John, George Clooney, Silvester Stallone, Jack Nicholson, Claudia Schiffer many others - and especially Brigitte Bardot.

"Back to nature" the beach got a new face. The biggest challenge: to preserve the myth of Pampelonne with its atmosphere and all its restaurants and beach clubs. The beach clubs and restaurants have a little less space and instead of 30 there are only 23 "Places to be". The public beach is 4km long, wider and more imposing - perfect for long beach walks, lingering in the sand and with its azure blue paradise.

In 1944 the American army landed and the Dragoon operation led by General Patch was a success. A few years later, the Parisian artisits, writers and actors discovered the blue sea of Pampelonne.

The operation is successful with superb establishments.

The report of the marriage of Ramatuelle to Pampelonne is particular. How not to be when you learn that Roland Bruno is almost "born on the beach" near Tahiti, Gabrine neighborhood, the place of his childhood, the one of the trips on board the paternal point, which made unthinkable any treason at the time to participate in the definition of the map of these 4.5 km of coast coveted. And yet, while now it is just to see him reap everything was not easy ...

Yes, Pampelonne is coming back!

This one, stamped with the seal of the "Minister of the Construction" of the time recommended, with great reinforcement of study and plans of mass a concreteization in rule of all the back beach, from north to the south, with great reinforcement of buildings and businesses to end up ... to a Ramatuelle population of 26800 inhabitants! "With Marina Bay of Angels, Port-Grimaud, etc. it was in the air, but fortunately we escaped!”

It is normal that people have worried and were concerned. Some of have done us no favour. But at the end we have made it all the way to the final end and the result is there. So for now it will be judged by our visitors.
